What is Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis?
Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is a CE approved and FDA approved procedure which involves cooling fat in pockets to remove resistant fat from the body by natural methods. Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is a safer alternative to liposuction. The goal of Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is to remodel the shape of the body and flatten bulges of resistant fat.
The concept of Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is to freeze fat cells into crystals which causes the fat cell to die. These dead fat cells are then slowly metabolized by natural pathways of the body over a period of 6 to 12 weeks.
How much does Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis cost per treatment?
One to four areas can be treated in the same treatment session. One area constitutes the upper or lower abdomen using one cooling head of the machine.
Two areas constitutes both love handles or bra bulges or inner thighs or knees using two treatment cooling heads of the machine etc.
Prices as follows:
One area with one cooling head (upper or lower abdomen) From R4,250.
Two areas with two cooling heads (Two areas on abdomen or Love handles or saddle bags or bra bulges or knees or batwing arms) From R5,500.
Three areas (including abdomen with one head plus love handles or saddle bags etc.) From R7,500.
Four areas (includes love handles plus bra bulges or saddle bags or abdomen etc.) From R9,500.
What can be expected after Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis procedures?
Several days after Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis, the cooled fat cells begin a process called "apoptosis" and begin to diminish in size. These dead fat cells are slowly metabolized over several months by your client’s body and removed through the liver.
Cold Technology is highly effective and is producing consistent results for local areas of fat like the love-handles or man-boobs. With this Cryotechnology you will start seeing results after 4-12 weeks.
Who is the ideal candidate for the Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis procedure?
The best candidate is someone who has modest fat bulges that they'd like removed such as a muffin top. Someone who is in relatively good shape. Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is not an alternative to a healthy diet or lifestyle. Depending on the size of the candidate he or she will need 2-3 sessions every 45 days.
What areas are most commonly treated?
The lower tummy, love handles, bra bulges, back fat, the flanks, saddle bags or flabby knees. Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis works best for people who have isolated pockets of resistant fat. Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is not a procedure for weight loss or for people who are obese.
How does Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis work?
One or two suction and cooling heads (independently controlled) with large surface areas are placed on the areas to be treated. The Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis cooling heads generate a vacuum that temporarily decreases blood flow to the treated area, immobilising the fat tissue, and isolating the treated area from surrounding tissue.
Low temperature (0° C to - 5 °C depending on the thickness of the fat), is then applied to the area in a controlled process, freezing the localised area for a set amount of time. If you are feeling too uncomfortable with the cold, let your beauty therapist know.
Once the cooling procedure is completed, the fat cells are free to get taken by the lymphatic system and gradually eliminated by the body's natural metabolic process. Skin is not damaged by Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis, but subcutaneous fat, which is more sensitive to targeted cold, begins a two-month cycle of melting away after exposure to Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis.
Our Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis machine has incorporated a cavitation hand piece which helps to loosen the frozen fat after treatment.
There is no anaesthesia, pain killers or recovery time needed. After the treatment is completed, patients can immediately return to their normal day to day activities including work, play and exercise.
What can be expected during the Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis procedure?
The initial feeling when the hand piece is applied is that the skin is that of your skin being pulled intensely into a vacuum. The cooling process then begins which might sting or feel uncomfortable for the first 10 minutes. Thereafter the area feels cold and numb.
The procedure takes one to three hours depending on the amount of areas being treated. When the hand piece is removed, the treated fat feels cold and hard to the touch. The therapist then does a cavitation treatment on the frozen area which quickly reduces the hardened effect.
Can Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis be combined with other treatments?
If there are any areas of hardened fat like maybe the saddle bags that might need to be treated, it is recommended that you take 2 to 4 weeks of laser lipo treatment course before Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis to soften the fat and improve results from Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis.
Two weeks after the Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis procedure, you can then restart laser lipo treatments to improve skin tightening and drainage of the treated area.
Just remember that the areas treated with Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis can only be retreated with Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis 45 days later.
When can one begin to see the results from Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis treatments?
Studies showed that people who underwent one treatment lost between 10% and 37% of the fat. This fat loss averaged at 25%. The results can be seen after 45 days in the treated area.
The results are delayed and take from eight weeks to six months to be noticeable to the naked eye. More than one treatment per area may be required to obtain the desired effect depending on the initial amount of fat to be reduced. The effect is visible within a short time frame but a final effect is usually attained after 3 to 4 months.
How many Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis treatments are needed?
One to three treatments are needed depending on the thickness of the resistant fat. Treatments can be repeated every 45 days. Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis can be used on all skin types and ages.
Is Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis safe?
Extensive testing has shown that cooling only damages fat cells, and that other tissues at the treatment site are not affected. The dead fat cells are swept away and discarded by the body's normal metabolic processes.
Because of its non invasive nature, Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis has considerably fewer risks than other fat reduction procedures. Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is considered safe for most patients, although there are certain risks associated with any kind of treatment.
Some of these risks do include bruising, redness and reduced sensation in the targeted areas. These side effects are to be expected and usually go away on their own after the Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis treatment.
What are the possible side effects associated with Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis?
Side effects are usually mild and related to the end cooling temperature of the Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis treatment. After the Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis treatment, there is a mild burning sensation which usually subsides within 10 minutes.
Skin may be red for several minutes to several hours. On certain areas bruising may occur which usually goes away after seven to fourteen days. If this persists for more than that you should contact your doctor or clinic.
Other side effects may include temporary bruising, tingling, tenderness or temporary dulling of sensation. Some people do report mild abdominal cramping the first night after the procedure.
Can all skin types be safely treated with Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis?
Fat freezing or Cryolipolysis is safe or all skin types.
